Experimenting with the opening credits

I used Adobe After Effects CS3 in order to create the animated text, Garageband for the sounds used and iMovie to put them all together in a short eleven second clip. The blinking effect I applied to the video is to highlight the drugs being poured into the container, it is made to look as though the audience is looking at the pills in the character's perspective for the reason that they are blinking constantly due to the side effects of the drugs they have taken. Also the shot of the drugs zooms in to the drugs, this is purposely done to emphasise the delusional state they are in. I chose to use violins as the main instrument to create a sombre effect, also to reflect the character's mood (sad, depressed, lonely) and the faint scream also echoes the person's thoughts, to suggest that they are desperately calling for help.

Our initial idea (included in our storyboard) states that the title will be in a white font against a black background, however we are considering to change this as it is too conventional and so I decided to experiment other ways to present the opening credits and created this:
